Resources for Framing Details in a House
Doing a first home refurb – learning as I go. Currently working on complete bath update. I’ve gotten much good info from books about basic framing and such. What’s much harder to find, though, is do-it-yourself type resources or even books from publishers like Taunton, that discuss how to frame details such as wall niches for a shower, built in sheetrock covered shelves, cubbyholes in the wall, etc.
Are there any resources books, videos, etc. that anyone knows of which does a good job of covering these types of architectural details?

These are actually simple framing problems. Just treat them as you would a window or door opening. That is, just put in a structural head (if required) between the bearing studs and fill in to your desired rough opening.
Regarding the shower niche, the framing is definitely less demanding than the subsequent tiling and waterproofing.
Regarding the "sheetrock covered shelves", I think you'd do well to rethink that. Sheetrock is a poor bearing surface and will rapidly abrade with use. It'd be much better to frame a rough opening for a simple set of wood shelves. Shim the case of the shelves to plumb and level, nail through into the framing, and then apply some trim around the perimeter as you would to a window.
Hope that helps.
