I discovered an old inlayed linoleum floor in the latest job and am trying to save it. Does anyone know anything about linoleum ?

Well today I got a big ole scraper out and found out that the color goes all the way thru, green field, ivory stripe and brown rosetts with ivory fill. If you use soapy water (any ole soap) and get the part you are working wet and wet somemore after five minutes or so the top layer will loosen up and can be scraped away: floor, dirt, paint and all. Not only can you make deep gouges and scrapes you can remove old ones. I haven't gone too far yet. After scraping dry the floor with rags and magically buff back the shine! What kind of wax do I finish it off with?

Use boiled linseed oil to restore the finish. Try in a n inconspicuos area first.
