Does anyone have any bright ideas about installing cast bronze snow stops on a new shake roof? The sheathed roof has Ice and Watershield under as well as an excelcior breather. My roofer is saying intall them on top of the shingles, sounds kind of lame to me. Any good tricks? Also is there a suggested schedule for the intallation of these things? Aspen CO

You might want to check your local building office. If memory serves Aspen has some rules on things like this.
*Snow stops? Is that what those metal things are that I've seen installed near the eaves on roofs up north?
