retro insulation in t&g (both side) wall
i have a 40’s house in south la. sheathed inside and out in tongue and groove 1×6, with a bad drywall job over the interior. i will strip the old drywall and update wiring, but am looking for suggestions on insulation techniques. i did a similar house 20 years ago by blowing celulouse into the cavity. are there significant improvements that i should consider?

What's the siding? Is there tar paper? Cellulose is great stuff, but protecting it from bulk water infiltration (i.e. rain) is crucial.

None of this matters in geological time.
andy, i have not had any siding off yet, but typically, there is 7 pound felt under the cypress lap siding.
If that's been sufficient to keep out the water, then I see no problem with cellulose.Andy Engel
