Hi all – hoping for some advice…
I’m using crown moulding at the rake on an exterior gable end.
I have plumb-cut the rake board at the eave and plan to use gutters at the eaves, so no plan to wrap the corner with the crown – that’s the good news….
Question – Where do I return the crown? Right at the corner? Some distance up from the corner?
As an alternative, I’ve thought of plumb-cutting the bottom end of the crown, extending the gutter a little, and having the crown die into the back of the gutter.
I’m leaning toward the first alternative, but welcome comments on both approaches or something different altogether.
Any help would be appreciated.

I don't return rake crown in that scenario. I wrap the gutter to return and cap it, then run the rake crown down onto that cap
