Looking for help. I’ve had my 7 1/4 circ saw for several years. The depth setting is pooched. I was going to loosen off the mechanism and insert a brass shim to help with fastening the depth at large settings, ( was embarrassed by a fence cut this week— 🙂
Anyone have anyluck with similar units? I can’t get the bolt to budge,, I guess I’m going to look for my recipt and take it back! Othewise it’s a good saw,,, done more than it’s fair share of use,,,,, I try to take it easy on low depth settings,, little miffed!

I have a Rigid Fuego 6 1/2" circular saw.
With it, all you need to do is remove the screw/cap that holds the lever on to the shaft.
(a small allen wrench required in this case).
Pull the lever off the shaft (there is a spring that comes off as well).
The lever fits over a hex shaped spline. Rotate the handle one notch counter-clockwise back onto the shaft.
Push the lever down and it should hold much tighter now. Reinstall the spring and the screw/cap.
Most saws I have owned have the lever that is splined onto a shaft and you only need to rotate the lever counter-clockwise
(for right sided blade anyway)a notch or two to tighten the depth adjustment.
Yeah,, I've adjusted those. This one has a C ring on a shaft and a nut. I can't get the nut off,, so don't want to remove the c-ring. Bit of a corker! It has been such a great saw,,,,,
