I’ve seen the craftsman riggers hachet but what is it used for?

      *Riggers Hatchets are primarily used as framing hammers by left coast carpenters. Their poularity is much reduced with the advent of hatchet handled framing hammers and other "California style" hammers. Historically the riggers hatchet might be a tool used by boat builders or sailers, I'm not sure.joe d
