1,900 SQ FT. of drywall, hung with one coat veener finish.
Cost =$4,200.
Am I naive, or is $2.21 per SQ. FT. a little steep?.

I had an entire (small) house done a year ago for $3100 - about 680 sq ft of ceiling (rough finish) and about 1800 sq ft of wall (smooth finish). Works out to about $1.25 per square foot - included all materials and labor, clean-up, and they did a perfect job. I'm in eastern MA - where are you located? Bill.
btw - I got bids 2x that amount - prices seem to range a lot when they are busy.
Hanover MA., It is a one coat plaster veener I am looking for
Veneer.... as in plaster veneer?
Clarify, please. Tell us whether you are discussing gypsum board, a.k.a. sheetrock, with a full skimcoat level 5a mud job,
or blueboard, and a veneer plaster job atop, typically at about 1/8" thickness, scratch, browncoat, and finish,
and most of all, tell us your location, and whether the 1900 sf is wall area, net or gross, or floor area.
Sorry all, The specifics are 5/8 DensArmor Plus, the customer wants a veener ( one coat skim ). The ceiling SQ.FT = 600. The only brown coats I run into here in Eastern MA. ( this job is south shore ) are in well built ones ( In other words, anything pre-50's ). Square footage is an exact measurement of walls and ceiling to be finished, I can honestly say within 20 SQ. FT, it isn't floor space. This is living space, so Level 5 finish. Thanks for your input.

I would expect skimcoat plaster over blueboard to cost 35-50% more than a smoothwall sheetrock job. It would cost me more than $2.25 per foot here, hung and finished. This would be by a skilled plaster crew and would be a sweet job.
In NC, you could easily pay $5/sf for that, if you could find it. Pricing of this is very regional.
I had initially planned on doing the rock and veneer myself ( yes, solo ). I am actually hoping to speed up the completion of the job for the customer. I am not sure I can justify paying/charging close to $1000 over the cost of the electrical ( including a 100A sub-panel)
