A lovely old friend of mine, Rockwell belt sander, quit working after 28 years faithful service. Seems nylon driven gear just had enough. Any leads on replacement parts? Porter Cable is rumored to be the sucessor to the brand, but I don’t see any sign of that on their website. Can’t blame them for wanting to sell me a new tool, but my wife bought Rockwell for me on 2nd anniversary, and the three of us have seen some sights together.

While the corporate entaglements get a bit incestuous...Delta was first, then did business as Rockwell up until the mid 80's. I think they were (or are?) owned by Pentair? And yes, Pentair owns both PC and Delta/Rockwell.
Regardless, try this place out. They claim to have parts for most everybody...

*Porter Cable and Delta were both separate companies in the 1930's/40's. North American Rockwell, better known as Rockwell bought Delta in the early 50's and renamed the line Delta/Rockwell. Later in the 60's, Rockwell bought Porter Cable and dropped the Porter Cable name. In the late 70's or early 80's, Pentair Corporation bought Delta and Porter Cable from Rockwell and returned their former names - Delta and Porter Cable. Porter Cable and Delta service centers merged along with some other operations a few years ago - you can get any Delta, Delta Rockwell, Rockwell and Porter Cable machines serviced at any Delta/Porter Cable service center. Also any independent service center who repairs Porter Cable also services Rockwell tools. You should have no problem finding the parts.
