I checked the archives for a source for this hardware. A few folks mentioned a company called Loius & Co. in San Diego, but they also only sell complete rolling ladders, for $1K! I guess the lawyers got the best of those manufacturing this hardware. Anyone else got any sources? Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,Kimball

Louis and Co. is a good source, as is E.B. Bradley Co. in Los Angeles. Be advised, if you do not do consistant business with these outfits, expect to pay a premium. Also, EB Bradley does not sell unless you're an existing customer, or if you have a contractor's license. You might want to try Outwater Plastics in Arizona (I'm not sure of the city). I've also seen them in hobby-type woodworking catalogs like Rockler. Have you tried doing a search on the net?
*Kimball, Have you searched over at the Fine Woodworking site? I recall a thread over there that dealt with what you are looking for, they may have discussed some of the same firms that Rockford mentions (?). If you have no luck there, try looking around at: http://www.historichouseparts.com or http://www.horsefeathers-antiques.com I know that houseparts has an email address listed so that you can write and ask them for whats in stock and they ship too. Good luck.

*KimballSorry, I missed the hardware only part of your post... I found this interesting tidbit of info athttp://www.mainething.com/chase&ekholm/i TOP & BOTTOM ROLLING HARDWARE:i Because of liability, no ladder company will i sell their rolling library ladder hardware i separately. This has been a problem for us, i because we spend much time trying to explain this i to people who think we can solve their problem. i Fine Homebuilding Magazine had an article in which i a craftsman solved his library ladder hardware i problems by making his own brass hooks, wooden i track and wheels.
*www.mockett.com has a library ladder kit. The style is contemporary, but maybe that will do for you.
*Thanks to all. I have checked these links. All sell only finished kits. Was hoping to get the hardware only and build a ladder. Apparently Louis & Co. used to sell the hardware, but they too have stopped. I did find the link to an old FIne Woodworking article interesting though. Thanks again, Kimball
I came accross this link in my own search.... http://www.lynnladder.com/products/LynLad/rollingoak.htm
The web page seems to imply that they will sell the hardware only, but they do not give prices. If you have any luck, please let me know. I will be taking up a similar project in a couple months.
