Up til now, any time I was stapling up wire, I’d just use a hammer and regular hand staples.
However, I’m building a 2-story garage/workshop, and sense the opportunity to buy a new toy . . . . er, tool to make the job go easier & look better.
Any staplers or other devices/methods that work well? (Mostly 12-2 romex)
Thanx
Don

Two story garage/workshop....
Open framing or sheathed walls?
With sheathed walls you'll never see what it looks like and the old hammer and staple trick will work just fine.
Sorry, no new toys for that method.
Open framing is a different story.
Most codes require conduit of some sort, usually up to ceiling height (8'). When I run PVC conduit, it's continuous from the panel to the final box and I pull the individual wires, not romex.
Now you get to buy a toy. A conduit cutter. Use the gray PVC conduit and buy a good cutter and you'll also have a tool to cut PVC and CPVC water pipe as well. Add a fish tape to that, too.
Opt for metal conduit and you get to buy a tube bender

I bought that staple gun and it works great. Probably bought it from the same seller - heck of a deal compared to HD and includes the staples as well. Also picked up a cable/phone stapler as well that also works real good. For Romex - beats the hell out of bending the metal staples as you hammer them.Jt
I bought one at HD a year or so ago. The first one seemed to misfire about every other shot. I called them and they sent me another one and a call tag for the old one. The second one has performed fine. It is faster than the other methods by quite a bit.
