All,
I’ve finished my new roof and have a few things that need to mount there, now that it’s done. Of course the Dish Network guy is going to come out and miss the lookoouts and I also have a bipod that supports the power mast. Before, it was just lag screwed through the roofing material with gookie-puck seaaling the lag screws. It eventuall leaked. What has anybody done to keep from screwing up their brand new roof??
Thanks and Merry Christmas…

I like to mount on the gable end
To keep from screwing up my roof, I keep off of it as much as possible.
I've always done TV tripods lagged to the rafters. After the lags are started, but while there's still an inch or so of play, lift the leg of the tripod and squirt in a couple of good blobs of roofing cement. Never had a leak, even when the rest of the roof went punk due to crummy Certainteed shingles.
Here's the best answer I've seen:

Would never work for a 10-foot-long TV beam, though.
