I’m about to re-roof my house. I would love to install permanent safety harness anchor points at the ridge line of the house, both for future roofing work, and for general maintenance activities.
Does anyone know of such an item? Needs to be aluminum or stainless (to avoid rusting), and painted somewhere close to the color of the shingles (so that it doesn’t look too strange).
Thanks for any help

Bob,
They are quite common, although I don't know about S.S.
Try a search on Fall Arrestors, or maybe Roof Safety anchors.
They are commonly sold thru the same outlets that sell harnesses , lines etc.

Stainless eye bolts from a boat supply place would work. I used galvanized on mine, because they were located out of sight on the flat section of the roof.
I used a rope grab, and kept the line taut most of the time. That way you never put much of a shock load on the anchor.
