What kind of shoes do you pro roofers wear for steep pitches? I don’t have any shoes which allow me to climb my 9/12 pitch comfortably. Are there special roofers shoes?

Check out FHB issue 129, page 132. Fred Lugano reviewed "Cougar Paw Shoes".
*virtually everyone I know uses Thorogood roofers shoes. You can order from AJC co.,1-800-428-2438.I wouldn't climb a roof without them.you can climb a 9/12 in them but you won't be able to do much actual work without cushions or roof jacks.
*Sam,Ditto on the Thorogoods.By the way, getting up a 9/12 roof is the easy part. Getting back down without over accelerating is often the more challenging feat, especially if that roof is an old worn one with loose granules! (or a brand new one that hasn't been rained on yet)John
*Good old fashioned tennis shoes. Nothing I've tried works better. They do, however, wear out very fast.Roofer's pearl of wisdom: "Never stand back to admire your work!"
*Nothin like a piece of foam rubber and toe boards on anything over 8/12.......shoes are optional with this method......
