greeting all,
I am looking at a project, residential home with metal roofing, the type about 4 ft. long, corragated looking, pieces with a granular coating. the tiles are getting pretty ratty and the owner is looking for ways to repair without a new roof. does anyone know if there are any applications to spray over these tiles or any other fixes.
thanks in advance

There are elastomeric coatings for commercial roofing. They can be mixed with tint to color. The granules would have to be applied by hand,3M makes granules that can be bought in bulk(5 gal pail). I'm not sure how this would work though.
The roof needs to be wire brushed(power head on a weed eater type unit)then sprayed. Prep work crucial to make product adhere.
I would guess labor and such for a residential project would cost more than a re-roof using new materials.
There are sleepers that are used to fit over the roof profile and then new panels installed over. This too is a commercial application and I'm not sure how the details(eaves, flashings, etc) would work and be cost effective on a residential project.
I would tear off and install a painted product that could be easily painted again(new products with Kynar paint have a 40 year warranty on paint) if need be.
