Is RoofTopGuardII used by itself or in conjunction with Grace Ice & water Shield? Alternatively, is it better to use I&WS for the entire roof? I live in OH and have a moderately sloping roof (don’t know pitch). We had lots of recent wind damage and I’m in the process of getting quotes. I have some water damage showing up in the ceilings of a couple of upstairs bedrooms.
Thanks for your help

I think the main hurdle to using I&WS alone is cost... plus it's not as nice to walk on like while you work like RTG.

Look, just send me to my drawer. This whole talking-to-you thing is like double punishment.
Whenever I've seen an entire roof done in asphaltic membrane, it's been the Certainteed brand with granular texture. Much less sticky than Grace, so easier to place, and much safer to walk on. I have concerns about non-breathability of coveing the whole roof with asphaltic membrane, but some roofs are just so troublesome I'll live with that worry.I've switched to Titanium UDL. Nicer walking surface than RTG II. I usually do two courses of Grace (6') and Titanium or RTG over the entire roof after that. Not a roofer BTW, just seem to wind up doing them more than I would care to.Steve
There can be some drawbacks to a whole I&W underlayment. Other times it is very much indicated.
would need to know your pitch to say.
