Bought a roto zip 5 yrs. ago came with the grinder head attachment, found it great when using the diamond blade for tile work, as the blade is fairly thin and very handy for cutting a radius.
Long story short Roto zip has replaced this tool 5 times, it just stops working. Call reps and they say blow it out with air (no problem been doing that) next time rep says no vac. out dust.
This isn’t a tool I use on a daily basis, but when you need it for its reguired use there hard to beat.
Last tool they sent lasted about approx. 5 hrs use small tile job and some drywall.
Forgot about tool until recently, small drywall job, oh yea roto is crapped out. Anyway I call to complain to roto again and apparently bosch now owns them, rep looks up my file and is now sending me brand new bosch spirial cutter.
Ah sometimes it feels good to win some and kudos to roto for the continued effort and 2 kudos to bosch for the no hassle and new tool.
Now the big question to blow or suck, inquiring minds need to know.

If you are using the rotozip primarily for drywall, I have been using a dewalt router successfully for about 5 years without any trouble.
Something happened to rotozip when they decided their tool could do just about everything. More of a hobby tool than anything else.
I started using the original rotozip in the 70's, the big lugger. I gave up on them after seeing other rockers with dewalts, craftsmen ect.
I am pretty hard on my tools and this dewalt is hanging in there. Don't know if it could be used for many other tasks however.
a little drywall and some small tile jobs, other than that this tool doesn't get a whole lot of use. That was my biggest b!tch about the roto. I could see if this tool was getting worked hard on a daily basis, I wouldn't have been so upset.
Will see how the bosch stands up, I have other bosch tools and they have served me well
I just bought a bosch roto about a year ago. It came with the cut off attachment too. I havent had a problem with it at all. I think you'll have better success with the new one.
Good Luck
I had a problem with my roto-zip after I had used it for grinding. When I took it apart it appeared the shaft had transmitted the heat in to the plastic fan and caused it to loosen on the shaft.
That's been a long time. I fixed it but can't remember if I used thread wrapped with silicone or epoxy. Anyway, that fan sliding was the problem. I don't use it for grinding anymore.
I figured it was from the dust from cutting tile, anyways I've got a new bosch coming and this roto is going in the trash. If somebody wants it for free its theirs.
Glad to hear Bosch is taking care of you, but I am surprised to hear about all the Rotozip problems. I have two, one is the original (cordless even) and it's gotten a heckuva lot of use for all kinds of stuff, never a problem not even with the batteries.
