Just had my project house rewired and need to square off and trim out the many holes left by the electrician. The walls are button board and plaster. I don’t want to use a sawsall as I know I will get a piece of the new wireing. Is a cut out saw the answer or a jig saw. If a cut out saw is best? Which one should I invest my money in?

Just finished same. Dry-wall saw (handsaw) cuts very quickly and is easy to control. Rotozip creates mucho dust.

I replied before realizing I didn't know what you meant by 'button board' but found it in search. I don't know if you have mesh wire or anything to deal with. If it cuts more or less like wallboard or rock-lathe, the handsaws make for pretty painless work.
