To cut out gang boxes we usually take a horizontal and vertical measurement, hang the sheet, make a cross hair, stick the rotozip in till we hit the inside lip of the box, move over a smidgen and cut her out.
Anyone ever use this?

I saw that at Lowes last week. The impression I got was that you had to stick the DW up in place, then take it down to cut out the hole, right?
I work alone, and once that sheet is up, it's not coming down unless I drop it.
To that end, I just received the DW1 model from Rotozip. It's made mainly for cutting DW, no fancy-schmancy gizmos and attachments to get glogged with dust. Haven't used it yet, but am looking forward to...
edit, maybe not what I thought is was. It can be left in place the mating magnet pieces define where the box is, right? Still, I'll stick with the coordinate system. You have to use the Rotozip anyway.

I've used both. I can't quite get the feel for the rotozip for cutting SR for the elect boxes (great for window & door openings), keep melting through the plastic box. Bad deal. Keyhole saw & sharp blade work better for me for boxes.
I've used the blindmark just recently and it works OK, it's accurate, expensive for what it is (IIRC around $9.00) and if there's more than 1 box in the sheet you're prepping you need several or go through the set marker, set the sheet, mark, pull the sheet, move the marker set the sheet, repeat as necessary process. Didn't work very well in anything other than a single box, the doubles & more it didn't sit quite right. There's got to be a better way. No doubt the marks were accurate but the effort & time to get them was too much.
Thanks. I think I'll keep my $$
Just in case, when cutting on the outside of an object (box, light can) always go counter clockwise. When cutting on the inside (door opening, window r.o.) always go clockwise. Blade should guide you along the edge. Mike
Trust in God, but row away from the rocks.
Thanks Mike. Now if I can only remember this the next time I do any rock.
