I just had my main line snake and rots where detected. After talking to the plumber and knowing that I would have to replace the main line, he suggested that after replacing the main line, I should add salt around the pipe to prevent this from happening again. Is this true? My main line 4″ cast, so I am assuming that the rots are coming through the NO hub.
