I have finally constructed the jig to cut out an ellipse using my plunge router. I am planning on cutting it out with several passes. I am looking for which router bit people would recommend to give the smoothest cut in MDO/sign board. Thanks for the help. Kieran

1/2" Dia. x 1/2" shank solid carbide upcut spiral. CMT brand or Whiteside. Maybe just go to http://www.routerbits.com figure about 50 bucks.
Tighten the collet well, they like to walk out due to the spiral action.

Thanks again for the quick responses. Kieran
No problem. This here is what yer after. Or maybe the next longest one. Too long can snap easy or chatter too much. Have fun and good luck.
