Home Depot has “RTD” plywood. Does anyone know what “RTD”
means, and is it somehow different from any other plywood?
It is just that I like to know about the products that I’m working with.
By the way, when asked what “RTD” meant at HD, they really didn’t
have an answer. Hopefully someone here will.
Thanks

"Ready To Delaminate"?
is that better than the ARD (already delaminated) ply from there????

There has been a lot of issues with delam. from temperature variances in maunfacturing. The RTD is better quality monitoring of the glue used in the presses.
The glues cure by RF ( radio freq.) and/or steam and need to reach the optimum temp to react properly. RTD is a way adding quality control to the process.
"The use of the in-process RTD sensors significantly reduced the delamination caused by insufficient heating of the plywood during the press cycle. If the plywood sheet is found to have delaminated areas, it is sold as a lower grade plywood at a reduced market value. Each press handles 30 sheets of plywood per two-minute press cycle, so the reduction in delamination has significant economic impact."
