Hello there,
I am speaking with builders about a house I would like to build and I would like to put in a basement. I live in southern Kentucky so almost nobody builds a basement unless it is a walkout on a hill.
I would like to know what questions I should ask my builder about the way an all under ground basement will be constructed and how he will finish out the 600 or so square feet of it that I would like finished.
As background, we are trying to build about 2300 square feet on one and a half upper floors and would like a basement with a dedicated home theater room, an office about 10×10 and a half bath. The neighborhood we are looking at does not have any sloping lots suitable for a walkout basement.
Also, I did try searching but could not find a good summary of what I should ask about. If there is a thread I missed I will welcome a link to it.
thanks for any and all advice,
Keith
