I made formwork for my GF so she could cast 1 1/2 x 8 x 16 concrete pavers for around our raised bed garden. (Told her that I’d just go out and buy the silly things, but she wants to do-it-herself. OK, sure, honey).
Anyway, I put together a simple 2×2 lattice screwed (Piffin fasteners) to 3/4″ ply, so’s she can do 12 blocks at a time.
Don’t really wanna be spraying WD 40 or diesel or such all over. Anything I can use which is more benign?
I thought of going to the dollar store and buying cheap ‘Pam’ type stuff.

You can use the cheapest vegetable shortening(crisco) you can buy...Warm it up till its like paint and brush it on...wash the castings off with dish detergent

You do not need form release for castings this small.

Make the forms out of melamine. The slick surface will prevent adhesion.
