I went to Dewalt's web site and they don't have it listed. I've did a search on Google but have been unsuccessful.

hmm...how does one use such a tool? - never heard/seen that before - "there's enough for everyone"
Two uses that I know of.
One is like training wheels on a bike, it is for stability ( less tipsy) on large flat surfaces.
Second is to make the sander like a stationary unit where parts are used on the table ( small stuff) and the sander is held in place.
I also know that that first use allows for better dust suction, the base is like a hovercraft or bumper car skirt.
Never used one tho'. I have made a table to hold my PC3x21 in a horizontal mode, by slanting the table one can use the whole width of the belt.Spheramid Enterprises Architectural Woodworks
