What can I use to prime previously-painted wood where the sap from knots continues to bleed through? I’ve tried yellow shellac but that doesn’t seem to work. Thanks for any and all replies!

The alcohol-based B.I.N.
I just used the BIN, two coats of it, covered by two coats of white latex top coat and the sap color still bled through after a few days. I was going to ask the forum for an alternative to BIN!
Are you sure it was the alcohol-based BIN?
Oh - and welcome here!
Shellac is probably the best sealer I've found. But you can't just use one or two coats , when you're dealing with the tough spots.
That's the bad news.
The good news is that the stuff dries so quickly that you can do 7 or 8 coats in one hour.

had good luck just recently with SW Oil Base Ext Primer on cedar with 2 coarts of Duration but it has yet to live through a hot summer here and that will be the test.
Cover Stain. You can spray but brushing will put on a heavier coat.

I've also had luck using aluminized metallic spray paint over pesky knots.
