I would like to get some user feedback on DEFY, made by Saver Systems.
We are erecting a large and freestanding arbor structure next to our house – by a fellow FH subscriber and a pole barn builder.
Poles will be 0.6 pressure treated 6×6 sunk into the ground.
The rest of the structure will consist of white oak and possibly some locust.
We decided to use regular hard wood because of our young children and others who will spend time under the shade provided by the structure.
Which brings me to DEFY, which is suppose to be superior to other organic matieral based penetrating finishes.
I am told the stuff is relatively safe and is water based.
The concern would be with washdowns from the overhead structure of the arbor when it rains or snows.
(A deck covered with synthetic lumber will be hung from the pole structure after the arbor is built.)
Thanks for any experience you can pass on using DEFY.
I have ruled out Sikkens for various reasons.
