We just had to come up with a masonry bit that would reach 30″ (9″ concrete, 21 inches of air) for a half dozen holes I was surprised that extensions don’t seem to exist for the SDS (SDS plus) bits and the longest SDS bits seem to be 24″ (SDS max does come in 36″).
We have plenty of 7/16″ hex extensions so we cobbled something together with a round masonry bit ground to fit the hex extension, but that doesn’t fit the SDS so it was painfully slow drilling.
There must be something more elegant/useful if this ever comes up again. Perhaps there is no easy answer and a person just needs to bite the bullet and plan on cutting/extending/brazing a SDS bit to the necessary length?

I don't think they make them cause the longer length just flex's rather than transmitting the shock to the drill point ..
What can be done is take your bit to a welding shop and have an extension welded on....they can probably cut the SDS end off the bit and splice it with a length of drill rod so you might want to provide them with a bit of 12" length.
i've got a 3' sds bit.
i've only ever used it once
A buddy of mine just had this same issue. Try Mcmaster - Carr supply co. Their website is http://www.mcmaster.com. They have these bits and just about anything else you can think of. If you get their catalog - the big yellow book - you will be amazed at what they offer and they have it all in stock. It is a little pricier than you might find elsewhere but it is so convenient I use them almost every day.
Good luck.
<Try Mcmaster - Carr supply co.>Their shipping dept. is awful fast, we order somethingand it is on our dock door the next day.Great company to deal with.
You might check with Fastenal. They're pretty good at finding specialty stuff for any kind of rotary hammer or drilling application.

I just called hilti usa & they have bits of any length (800) 879-8000 but they are special order & they are friction welded so having a local shop weld one up for ya might be cheaper
After searching literally dozens of industrial supply outfits for the bit, you guys hit the nail on the head with McMaster - Carr!
