I have a dyed (dark brown) concrete basement floor that I’m planning to seal. It was poured last November. I’ve been using the basement for temporary shop space while finishing out the inside of the house. The floor is covered with poly, but has gotten pretty dirty. I plan to clean, then seal the floor.
Questions: 1. Make any difference what I clean it with? Basic detergent and water or? 2. I’m just hoping for a cleaner/shinier look without changing the color. Recommendations?
Thanks!
If anyone feels the need, go ahead and post a list of which politicians should have been under the floor when it was poured. ; )
JUST KIDDING!

do not use anything with an acid in it. when I did mine I rented a carpet steam cleaner and just ran over and over.
TSP is a fairly neutral cleaner....

I agree with IMERC. Does the sealer container say anything about how to clean the concrete before using it?
Most sealers can't tolerate any moisture in the concrete, so after cleaning you have to be sure it's thoroughly dry. That's hard to do in the summer. I recommend letting it dry for a number of days, then using a dehumidifier to be sure the slab is really dry.
