I just put in 12 x 12 granite countertops. When I put the sealer (waterbase Aquamix Gold 15) on, the joints darkened more than the surface of the stone. Will this even out as the product cures? Is it something I can fix. Do I have to live with it? Thanks for your help.

I am not familiar with that particular sealer but I would wait a few days before resigning myself to "darker joints". Depending on the adhesive you used there may be moisture under the granite that is contributing to the darker areas.

Thanks for your reply Karl. I did use thinset with acrylic modifier. I see the joints are much dryer this morning and I feel better.

You need at least 1/16 grout joint otherwise it will be too tight to force grout into and you will end up with water/other fluids working its way between the tile.
If you are talking about granite slabs, I agree wholeheartedly that there shouldn't be any joints and the occasional joints required on a large kitchen should be glued together with a good two part epoxy.

Usually granite floor tiles are set with tighter joints than 1/16, more like 1/32. I guess that is fine with dry installation. As you said it must be hard to get the grout into a 1/32 joint.
Yea I cut up a bunch of credit cards and used them for spacers. they worked great. Darkworksite4: When the job is to small for everyone else, Its just about right for me"
