We are nearing completion of construction on our home, finishing the last couple of things needed for a certificate of occupancy. We have an attached garage, with a truss roof and regular drywall ceiling. We would like to be able to use the crawl space for storage (of boards and empty boxes and the like). Our building inspector says that if we want to do that, we need to install a self-closing, fire-rated access door. Problem is, we can’t find a source for such a beast. It would be a horizontal access door. Does anyone here know where we could find one?
Thanks,

In Seattle, most of the brickie places sell those doors. You could also wait untill you had your C of O, and then put in anything you wanted.
