Hey All.
I’m going to install a media distribution panel in my basement for all my low voltage cables (cat5e and RG-6). There’s a small area right next to the service panel that would be a perfect location and out of view. The furthest I would be able to mount it from the service panel would leave about one foot between the two. Is this too close? I’m worried about crosstalk or interference from the electrical. If this is a consideration, I can find a new spot for the distribution panel on the other side of the room, but I’d rather have them both in this same out of view area.
Any thoughts? Thanks.
Steve

No problem. The grounded metal can the panel is in will be all the shielding you need.
Be sure you tie all the low voltage surge protection to the grounding electrode conductor from the panel.
You still want to keep all your Cat 5s twisted up all the way to the punch down and you want the Coax in good quality connectors with terminators on any unused ports.
