This small, slab-on-grade home keeps costs down with a sopastone fireplace for heating, a sunshade system to control solar gain, and a simple material palette.

I've used some deck screws at 6", maybe 7". I just had my local lumber yard order a box of them.
*try McFeeleys, i think they have a website, they have some extra long screws.
*I'd agree McFeeley's is a good bet.If you're framing the 'Timberjack' brand can be found at some Home Depots (if anybody can remember what aisle they put them in cause they're not with the rest of the fastners). Designed for RR tie construction. Hex heads that sit proud of the work surface though. NOT CHEAPAt such lengths go to #10 or #12 or the torque will just snap them off.And come to think of it the Structural Insulated Panel (SIPs) guys use them. Check the ads in FHB.
*Try your local roofing materials supplier. They will sometimes sell small lots from open boxes-John
