I have a house located on the Oregon Coast (everything that can, will and does rust). I am prepping the house for painting and have run into two problems. 1. Some nails (galvanized box)in the facia boards and under the enclosed eaves have severly rusted through the paint. Some of the nails are flush and some are slightly countersunk 2. There is dry rot at the ends (2-4 inches) of some of the facia boards. Any recommendations on repairs?

Potentially a replacement job. You might get by for a few years by injecting with wood hardner by minwax or abatron.
More important is find out why the rot and rust. You've got water where it shoudn't be.
