*Grizzly Imports will be having their tent sale in three weeks. They are in central PA. I haven't seen anything wrong with their machines other than my ego isn't boosted by the name "Delta" on the side of it. The machines are heavy, with good bearings and good quality machining, I see little difference between Grizzly and Other Importers.Last year they had several dozen for various prices, all below $400. That's what I am going for this year. Here's a tip - get there early (6 am) pull the tickets you want, take a nap and get lunch, then pay & pickup. It's a total mob scene until about 1pm. They do bring machines out all morning long, so you may want to take a very short nap.-Rob

*I agree with Rob. Check out the Grizzly line. Very affordable and I have had good luck with their tools. I was in their showroom in WA a couple months ago and they are putting their name on bigger and better tools now too. - jb
*The tent sale is apparently returned or damaged goods, among lots of demo tools. My saw had a bent arbor, out by .020. So I paid $390 for the saw, $20 for the part, $8 for shipping, and I had a 3hp cabinet saw that they sell for $700. They had machines in various states of needing parts - motors, spindles, tables, etc. Lots of guys were buying empty cabinets for $20 because it's cheaper than building one. Maybe the difference is the fact that they salvage their loss and others might just scrap 'em.-Rob
*I've had some scary luck with grizzley -- to the point that I asked them to drop me from their mailing list -- nice catalogue but the stuff just is not worth the hassle of getting it going right. They mismail parts and when you return an item there's a 10% restocking fee. I would rather pay the extra $ and get something that I can safely work with out of the box.
*Powermatic ? excellent taste in machinery Joe .

*Powermatic....the only way to go if you want your tools to last and find parts later. If you can't afford Powermatic, and not too many people can, then I suggest Delta. Try and get parts from Grizzly.....good luck, they come from somewhere overseas, and I don't care what the salesman says.Ed. Williams
