Remember that post ponyt made awhile back about being out in the boonies late at night with a leak in one of his buildings or something
and he fought the water spray as he slapped a fitting on there and all was well?
Other day a lady client calls about her plumbing in her rental house
where during the winter she got tired of paying $300 gas bills at thermo set at 45degrees in the vacant house
so at least she knew enough to drain the hotwater tank before she shut off the heat but that was about it. Sad but true.
Of course the ancient shutoff before the water meter in the basement leaks thru the new watermeter that just got replaced
and the water company was unable to shutoff the water at the street from an ancient setup they surmised perhaps a snowplow had hit sometime in the last 20years
so when the water hits an old tapdrill deal someone put in the line sometime way back for a water dispenser in a fridge it starts spraying all over before the water heads down to the leaky valves heading to the upstairs bath.
At least the leak isn’t spraying when the main shutoff is crimped tight as can be.
But any water in a basement is uncool but them sharkbites…ahh, sweet invention I must say. One tube cut before the dispenser tap and regardless of the waterflow, slap one of them suckers on there.
It’s all struttin’ downtown till the street crews dig up the main and fix it.
heh heh Then the
might literally hit the fan.
