Can anyone recommend a good sharpening service? Today I managed to drop the organizer containing all of my router bits. Needless to say the bits took a ride with it down to the concrete floor in my shop. Now I’m left with a whole bunch of chipped cutting edges on some of my most-used bits, some of which are nearly new. I’m sure a few will have to be replaced – the fall (well actually the sudden stop at the end of the fall) chipped about 50% off the face on one of the carbide flutes of my large patern bit, so I’ll guess that one’s had it. Aside from that, I’m hoping the rest can be salvaged.
I’ve been looking around lately for a local sharpening service but haven’t really turned much up. I’m located outside of Worcester, MA so if anyone happens to know anything local that would be my first choice. Also, does anyone have any experience with sending blades and bits out to Forrest for sharpening?
Thanks in advance.

I've heard good and bad about Forrest sharpening. I've been to the factory and how they sharpen and flatten blades seems good.
I use Ridge Carbide for sharpening, and they've always done a good job with my saw blades and planar knives. Ridge was started by some former Forrest employees. http://www.ridgecarbidetools.com (I think).
I don't know if you have a local Wood Craft store and don't know for sure if they sharpen bits or not......But ours does sharpen wood working tools like planes and turning tools. Might give them a call.

I always send my table and radial blades to Forrest; usually 8-12 a year - always turn out sharp as he!!.
Forrest - obviously I WOULD send them to Forrest!
