I have question regarding the best way to install sheathing at the foundation level. I want to run the plywood sheathing over the sill plate and down an additional 2 inches. This will help keep wind drive rain out, but I have two questions:
1.) The sheathing will be in direct contact with the concrete foundation for 2″ around the perimeter of the structure. I’m concerned about a long term moisture problem with the wood and concrete being together. What do you recommend to separate the two or reduce the risk of a rot issue?
2.) The bottom of the sheathing (6â€- 8†above grade) will still be prone to get wet from rain backsplash. What do folks do to reduce long term moisture/rot issues on the bottom of the sheathing?
Thanks for your ideas.
