   Make sure your sheets are stamped "Sized for spacing". I leave a gap in my sheathing but less than 1/8". I've neve had problems with this method. If you want to space 1/8" on 48" sheets, alter your layout. Start out 15 1/4" set ahead then 31 3/8", 47 1/2" etc.

   an article in FHB a few months back about this, but it was
   somewhat controversial.

   Kinda' funny about that "sized for spacing" business. My understanding is that designation only means it "may" be cut for spacing - not that it necessarily "is" cut for spacing. As far as I can tell, the only benefit to having that designation (assuming my understanding is correct) is knowing that you need to measure each piece to determine if it is indeed sized....... If you can call that a benefit.

   *Seems to me I've read a couple of posts and some articles elsewhere on whether or not to space, even though it is supposed to be done. So maybe a trip to the archives might shed some light on the subject. I'm not sure how big a deal spacing is since I've never heard of a problem even if the supposed spacing isn't observed. But, I hasten to add most of my observation in recent years has been in relatively dry climates.

   Please help with sheathing gapping and filling in. I run verticle wall sheathing. If I gap it 1/8th in like "reccomended" I miss a stud after a few panels. Any advice? Where do you fill in strips? Top, Bottom or split bottom plate in half with bottom edge of panel? How do you gap short edges of roof sheathing? Thanks.
