i am considering buying/building a 12 x 16 shed to be converted to a studio/man cave. size is based on 200 square ft maximum without building permits or inspections.Electrical work does require inspections. building would be insulated and built on 6×6 pt posts on concrete punch pads below frost line@36 inches. need advice on how to insulate floor[pt plywood over 2×8 joists]. Also how to construct soffit and ridge vents. siding and roofing suggestions very welcome. thanks in advance.

I think a lot depends on how you heat and ventilate space.
My first thought would be to spray foam on everything. This would allow you to fill roof cavities solid negating need for roof ventilation and allow vaulted ceiling.
The climate he lives in would make a diff too.

In my thinking, this stuff would depend on whether I bought this cave or built it. That makes quite a difference.
What experience in this kind of building do you have? A teacher always has to consider his audience. Teaching rocket science to a second grader is different than teaching a grad student in the Air Force Reserve
