next week i begin a paint job that will require me to texture upwards of 3 rooms. in the past i have used a HOMAX hand pump gun wuth acceptable results(they do dribble a lot) . i was hoping on this job and future ones to use a pneumatic gun. i have looked at two. HOMAX, lots of plastic, plastic jug for material, and a WALBOARD pro hopper gun( looks to be better made???).
does anyone have a opinion on either of these guns, or any other guns?
any tips would be appreciated also…mud/water mix, pressure of compressor, ect
thank you in advance for any and all responses
ADDENDUM

Ive got several different brands. My favorite is a cheapy that doesnt even have a name. The reason is that it came with different size tips. The gun stores them in the handle with a wrench. Having so many choices has been very nice. One time cheaper was better .Bout 50.00 bucks. Also a light spring in the trigger leaves its use free of finger fatiuge. The part that shoots isnt very complicated so none are better except that Goldblatt comes with to small a tip.

I've used the Walboard machine and it's a piece of cake. What I do is get a big piece of cardboard (or wallboard) and do some tests before I start spraying. The thickness of the material matters as well as the air pressure and the diameter of the nozzle.
The results will be very professional and you'll like them.

Order the other orifices for it and you will really be pleased. The Goldblatt has come out with a trigger lock to help fatigue. They also have all the different sized orifices too. I didn't mean to down grade their name as they sell a stout gun. I have the Wallboard also . Its my primary wall texture gun as it does a fine job with light textures. It has a finesse trigger control which makes if easy to feather repair work. Good gun.

I have used the Homax plastic pneumatic unit, and it works well.
