I have not looked at sterling in a while. Before they hooked up with Kohler they were cheap units IMO.
Lasco makes nice units.
Maax is nice.
Aquaglass is another. I can guarantee you there will be a ding in the finish that they will stand behind and have a Tub Doctor repair at no charge to you.
Make sure you understand that a pieced unit is almost always desirable over a one pc. in remodels. Also, make sure the unit or even the pieces will fit into the room. Read up on the install instructions as some of these need to be bolted together after assembly and b/4 install. If you don't have room to manuever and bolt it together, you will be screwed. Some just snap together.

thanks for the info. getting the unit into the cabin should not be a problem as this is new construction.
Yep, Calvin hit all the ones I'd look at.
Lasco has a very extenisve range of accessories for the shower units, too (possibly too many choices).
Now, you used the word "cabin." Have you thought about insulation around the shower unit? (I've two reasons to ask--one is experience with an ice cold shower stall; the other is repairing a freeze-busted cold water line in the middle of nowhere in a snowstorm <g>)
A nice one-peice can be much simpler in a cabin.
this "cabin" is going to have all the comforts of home! we will not have to worry about a cold shower. i got online and found out that home depot and lowe's both carry those products. So i just need to do some shopping. i even think our plumber mentioned "aquaglass". i just want to be sure that it is a good product . i knew that "you guys" would know. you know everything. thanks.
I don't know about lowes or the depot. I don't buy there. When I order the aquaglas from my plumbing supply they jokingly ask if I want to pre-reserve the Tub Doctor to repair the chip. I'm thinking every aquaglas I've gotten has had to see the chip repair-person. Not that it makes a big difference, just wanted you to know it's a possiblility. The units are nice, the shipping might leave a bit to be desired. And to go through a legit plumbing supply (good one) would be the way I would go. Best of luck on this new construction. It's more fun than anyone should have. So much fun, should be illegal.

going to have all the comforts of home!
Well, that's the idea.
Bit trickier when you lend it out to a person, and that person finds out that two owners ago, the shower is a converted closet on an uninsulated exterior wall. It's even more fun when it's after midnight on a Friday night, out in the woods, visiting, in a snow storm when the cold water line freezes under all of the meticulously laid tile . . .
This is th sort of thing that's not that much fun even in retrospective, so any help I can give to avoid it seems worthwhile <g>.
Occupational hazard of my occupation not being around (sorry Bubba)
The Sterling, by Kohler is a good unit - engineered so you can leave the joints uncaulked and still have no water leaks, but not as pretty as gel coat or acrylic finishes. Check out Warm Rain (http://www.warmrain.com), made in Hancock, MI - excellent products and quality at competitive prices.
