About to do bath rehab and client wants fiberglass shower surround. Don’t like the idea, but whatever. Haven’t installed one in years! Anybody got up to date tips (special adhesive, etc.)? Also, any preference to brands, better place to purchase, etc..
Thanks for any help or ideas.

Unless they are really cheap, why not try selling them on Azek sheet goods. Bead board down and solid upper half. It seams as though they want a solid surface. Just a thought!!!!!!
They sell em' from under a hundred bucks to hundreds of dollars. The box stores have a variety of them.
A few of the cheaper ones I've been asked to install over the years (although it's been a long time since my last one) I've had problems with the corner pieces fitting in snugly. What I'd learned to do was to bring a bunch of pieces of 8' furring strips to wedge between the walls over the ends of the corners untill the glue dried over night. There's specific glue just for the surrounds and some surrounds come with it but some not. HD and Lowes has tubes of it in the paint department.

The plumber installed one of these on a bath I was working on. I was really sold on it. If they want a surround because of cost concerns this might not work for them. This customer was more worried about grout lines, maintenence etc.

Make sure you have an exterior opening large enough to get it inside, then prove out door openings and turns/obstacles.
These are decent - http://www.us.kohler.com/onlinecatalog/product_result.jsp?section=2&category=12&subcategory=127&frm=Shower+Modules
