I installed a 40 gallon gas tank about 6 months ago and I’m not quite sure whats going on. From the screws that hold the lid of the tank, the cold supply, the hot going out, T&P valve, and the loop plug comes this blurbling orangish foamy stuff. The only thing I can think of is that it has a leak in the actual tank and the hot water is turning the expanded foam insulation back into liquid where it gets squished through any opening possible. I have a call in for warranty so hopefully they’ll just get me a new tank. Any help would be appreciated.

Very carefully back out of your house. This tank is about to become a monster. Now run for all you're worth and don't look back. There... now you are safe.
Seriously, what is your water temp running?
*The temp. valve is a Robert Shaw and it has three settings:Vacation, Warm and Hot. I have it set approx. 1/3 above warm. The foamy stuff only spews alittle and ony when extended amounts of water are being used.
*Did you install all the fittings yourself? Nice and snug? What did you use as a thread sealant?
*Dusty,What did your installer say?Oh...That's right, good luck.near the stream,aj
*Where did you buy the heater? Who made it? Do they have a phone number you could call?I would be checking with the manufacturer or the seller.Rich Beckman
