If that's a 4x8 sheet, it's twice what I'm paying for copper.

Regular, well-done maintenance is the best alternative to watching something rot and then complaining about the cost. Vinyl is crap but is the best alternative to real siding for low maintenance type of people.
Thanks Tim, as I bought the house this last spring for a great price I knew I was going to have to deal with some issues the roof was the priority, now it's on to siding and decks. Thanks for the input

Hardie fiber cement siding. If you follow the painting instructions and don't wimp out with a cheap paint it will last a very long time.
