What do you recommend for deadening sound transmitted from a floor overhead that is hardwood. I am finishing a basement and thought about fiberglass insulation in between the floor joist to deaden the sound of foot traffic overhead. The ceiling will either be 5/8 sheetrock or a acoustical drop ceiling.

One or more of the articles refer to using resilient channel (metal firing strips). I was surprised the other day to see that these are sold at Home Whatever.
