Greetings experienced ones,
I live in a classic 1920’s stucco home with plaster interior walls. in one of the upstairs rooms this summer, I removed the plaster/lath from the two exterior walls, insulated, drywalled. I was considering using a Fomo product to insulate the next room instead of tearing out the plaster and lath.
Is this an effective choice? Or should I just tear out the lath / plaster and go buy more pink.
If it makes any difference, the house is completely re-wired…
Thanks in advance for your insight.

I have been using FOMO (now Tiger Foam) for quite a few years and I don't know how you could spray it without taking out the plaster and lathe.
According to the FOMO site, they have a slow rise formula for existing cavities. Seemed to me to be similar to the icynene "pour in". Of course they have an updated note saying they can't guarantee it won't blow out the plaster/drywall which was most likely posted after DY plugged the holes too soon...

Of course if my math is correct, I might be better with Pink. The 600BF kit seems pricey for one room.
Thanks,

OK, haven't looked at the web site since I switched foam suppliers, but IMHO I don't know if I could assure myself that I was getting a consistant and even coverage. Also if you need to upgrade the wiring and/of plumbing the P&L would have to go.
I'm anxious to have you try it and report back to us on how it goes. I have often thought of trying that slow rise pour myself from FOMO or Tiger foam. The only warning that jumps out at me is that this is the second floor of an older house. From doing the other room, you probably know whether it is balloon framed? If you were pouring it blind without knowing, it could take a lot of product to fill the crawlspace and the ceiling below you...LOL Just know where it is going. I'm sure the sellers must have some tips.

After one experience having poured-in foam blow all the sheetrock off the walls I prefer other options.
