Searched for info on SIPs construction here but haven’t found any battle stories. Any SIPs builders out there? Looking to add a second story to my house and thought SIPs would help reduce the open time, in addition to all the other apparent benefits.
I’ve looked at things on the web, just looking for some real world information, not the marketing stuff.
Other than general impressions on the product, I’m curious about the electrical wiring approach. Says there are chases in the foam core. What kind of boxes do I use? old-work zip boxes? Are the top and bottom plates drilled to align with the holes in the foam core? Sounds like the electrical would be more painful than just drilling through studs and running wires wherever I want.
