I’m dealing with an old concrete porch that currently slopes back toward the house – this is very bad, as evidenced by all the rot I’m fixing…..
can I skim coat it from say an inch and a half out to nothing and have it stay there ?
some special product ?
magic ?
I forgot to mention – the porch is painted – I assume I, or preferably someone who is not me, will have to grinder it to have any chance of adhesion…..

there is a company called WR Meadow that makes meadow-patch and also a company called Degussa that makes some serious stuff as well. Strong enough to drive on in a coupla hours. Building materials places have it, caulking sealant places etc. 30-40$ a 55lb bag
Skimming over existing problem seems like a temporary fix, and the extensive rot you mentioned makes me think that the situation might not only recur, but accellerate. If the slab was properly reinforced and isn't badly cracked, It could be a good candidate for jacking -have you looked at it from the crawlspace? If you're set on skimming, you can have the surface "shot blasted" by pros, or scarify it yourself with a rented demo hammer and "scrabbler" bit (it looks like a meat tenderizer). Use a bonding agent to prime the surface, and don't forget to slope it for coorect drainage.
