I’ve got a new slab with two minor problems. One is some roughness around the edges where the slab meets the footing wall (the roughness is actually on the top of the wall, not the slab).
The other problem is a doorway transition where the finishing machine has ‘ramped’ the slab a little higher than the footin wall as a result of it’s spinning action. I’m worried that the surface may not be flat/smooth enough to put laminate over top. Any thoughts on what to smooth it with? Thinset? Floor leveling compound?
Thanks,
Scott.

how thick do you have to build it up to get it level and smooth?
I'd say the deepest defect would be about 3/4" but in most spots it would be around 1/2".

I'd use a fiber concrete re-surfacer to get it almost there... then a leveling compound.
